First Trig point in Wales

Hi,
Can anyone help me in finding where and when was the first Trig point in Wales built. Thanks for any help.

As far as I can tell from John Davies' book Primary Trigs in Wales, the first OSGB36 station built for observations in Wales was Stiperstones in Feb 1936, but this first station actually in Wales was Mynydd Maen in March 1936.

Thanks Bernie,

That's excellent information, fills many empty cells.

These dates all fit in nicely with similar FB numbers. The October 1936 date for Rhiw (S1824) fits with its original FB, S1623. The replacement FB range date from July 1937, so that pillar must have needed some early surgery.

I can paste these dates into the PillarHistory Update file ready for the Hogmanay update.
