Postby Cumfy » Sat Aug 01, 2015 6:36 pm

I am trying to identify a tp from marks on iron plate at the base.
BSM 3247

It is not tp3247.
Any help appreciated.

That is:

OS official name: Wavering down. Flush bracket number S3247, not to be confused with the TP number used on this site.
Pillar completed 3rd May 1944, cost £5.7s.4d or decimal equivalent £5.37.
Tertiary triangulation station in the Bristol Secondary Block, computed in 1944.
Levelled in 1965, BM height value 210.94m.
Last maintained by the OS in March 1980.
