Last trig point

Postby AndrewK » Mon Oct 07, 2019 2:59 pm

Hi All

I know the first trig point is in Cold Ashby

I had a feeling the last one was in the Howgills somewhere ? is that correct ? I can't seem to find any reference on Wikipedia etc that i'm sure used to be there

Thanks

It's on the TP database as Thorny Gale but on the OS map it's identified as Thorney Gale. It's approx 2 miles (3km) east of Brough.

If my memory serves me right I believe there was a later pillar actually built somewhere in the northern Peak District area but that was never commissioned but I forget it's location.
