Last summit in a round of 9 in the Dunnerdale Fells. Great viewpoint with te Duddon Estuary to the Southwest,Stickle Pike to the North,Caw & the Coniston Fells to the Northeast. Headed directly East from the summit through the thankfully dead bracken to find the path back down to Broughton Mills.

Top o'Selside (WO/B)-Top o'Selside (Ma)-Heel Toe Hill-Arnsbarrow Hill-Stang Hill-High Light Haw-Low Light Haw-Brockbarrow. Visited the true summit on Brockbarrow then Wainwright's 2 cairns before heading down to the Cumbria Way as the sun was setting. Beautiful colours & great views over Coniston Water & the Coniston Massif. Descended through the woods by headtorch.

Great views back to the main Howgills from Green Bell summit.

Up from Sherrabeg on the road to Garva Bridge. Two new gates give easy access to the hillside. Followed deceptively rough ridge until the deer fence where there is a convenient gap to climb through & then a simple final ascent to the trig. Returned to deer fence & then descended alongside it before heading across boggy heathery ground to meet with outward route at the foot of the ridge. No views & a bitterly cold wind meant there was no lingering at the summit.

Up from the A87 on the well built old stalkers path,nipped up to the Graham Biod an Fhithich before traversing round to the foot of the Forcan ridge. Scramble up the ridge was a joy,even though it started to rain,what a way to reach probably the best Munro in the area. Trig sits just along the ridge from the Munro summit & is a fine viewpoint,a Vanessa in good condition with a small commemorative plaque at it's foot. Continued over to Sgurr na Sgine before descending via Faochag back to the road.

Climbed this superb mountain from Kinlochewe where i was staying at the bunkhouse. Long walk in (& a seemingly longer walk out!) along the Kinlochewe river before a fairly steep climb into the corrie,which is a fantastic place in itself. At this point the clag descended & no views were to be had from the summit. Trig looking in a bit of a sorry state. After the trig,carefully navigated along the top to the true summit cairn before heading down via the lochans to the south. Great day out despite the lack of views.

Up from walkers car park at Ardwall. Well made path until the gate in the fence to the open fell is reached,once through the new looking gate the route directly up the hillside is reputedly very muddy but was frozen solid today. Nice view of the sun as it started to set but no other views due to the haze. Trig in good condition but a rather wet area to negotiate between it & the huge cairn.

Assume it gets the Cairnsmore of Deugh name on here from the river Water of Deugh which flows to the West. Nice summit with extensive views. Trig pillar looks in good nick to me.

Another new addition which i have only just noticed! Again been here loads of times from an early age. A great spot for views across the bay(on a clear day). Strangely there used to be two lighthouses here,the one nearest the road(Near Naze 1,still intact)a stone tower being built in 1904. This was replaced by at latest 1916 by Near Naze 2 which was a cast iron skeletal tower on a stone base,of which only the stone base remains. My assumption is that Near Naze 1 was/is the triangulation point & so have given it's condition as good. If it was/is Near Naze 2 then it's condition could be judged as remains or damaged? The choice is yours!

Planned route via CMD arete went a little wrong due a lazy bit of navigation so ended up scrambling up the corrie to the southwest end of the arete. From Great Knoutberry Hill over permissive path to Wold Fell,nipped to summit before rejoining good track down to road. Turned right & followed road then turned left onto the Dales Way & then eventually Southwest for an ascent over boggy ground to Blea Moor summit. Trig sparkling white with a recent coat of paint,excellent views of all the 3 Peaks as the low cloud of earlier in the day had dispersed. Followed the fence Northwest to an obvious path which heads over the top of Blea Moor tunnel & down to Ribblehead.

Walked up from Dent Station via the Coal Road which leads to Garsdale,then turned right onto the bridleway signposted Arten Gill Moss. From the bridleway i then took the signposted access path alongside the fence straight to the summit. No views as the cloud came in just before i reached the summit. Stumpy stone built trig at the junction of fence & wall. Continued Southeast alongside the wall back to the bridleway before heading on to Wold Fell,Blea Moor & Ribblehead.

Descended via path along wall to Colt Park then following a rough path along the West side of the railway before crossing a bridge & continuing along through the field past the railway station & out through a gate opposite The Station Inn where refreshments were taken on board before heading back on the train.

After accessing Sulber trig by going in & out through the sheep gate,i continued along the wall until a gate,which i climbed,then simply followed the West side of the wall round to the FBM. From here i continued alongside the wall until a gate where the bridleway comes in from the North,went through the gate & followed the bridleway until it joined the path from Horton in Ribblesdale which i'd previously left & continued on to Ingleborough.

Took the path which leads up to Ingleborough from Horton in Ribblesdale station. After passing through a gate in the wall which leads on to the open fell,i cut North along the Limestone pavement to follow along the West side of the wall to where there is a junction of two walls. Trig on East side of the wall but can be accessed by clambering through a small sheep gate. Gate is held shut by a rather heavy rock on the West side. Great views of Pen-y-gent.

Another easy one,parked in entrance to track/PROW leading down to Mason House farm. No need to go through wooded area,this has seen a lot of activity & is now full of felled trees & deep pools of stagnant water.

Parked in the Inveruglas visitor centre car park(free). Followed the A82 south then took the tarmac track which heads under the railway & towards Loch Sloy dam. About half a mile before the dam there is a small cairn on the right of the track which indicates the point to start the long,sometimes boggy ascent. Superb location,with views in all directions,Ben Lui dominating to the north,Ben Lomond to the SE & views down Loch Lomond. The true summit isnt at the trig but at the crag & cairn which is 2m higher,200m further north along the top.

Came up from the car park at the site of the former Ben Lawers visitor centre via Beinn Ghlas on a good,obvious path. Good views most of the way,Lawers looming large in front of me. Suprisingly easy ascent considering its height(1214m). By the time i reached the summit,the mist had rolled in to stay so no more views unfortunately. The trig is in a rather sorry state,wide cracks leading up from its base which sits precariously propped at one side by some rather rotten looking wooden supports. Another top location,the mist making it very atmospheric & only saw one other person in the 45 minutes i spent at the top.

My hundredth trig & my first Munro at the same time. What an awesome place,wonderful views for miles in every direction,spent quite some time here as i had the summit all to myself(never saw another soul all day). A 3 hour plus hike up from Falls of Cruachan station,up past the dam & reservoir on good paths all the way. Headed east along the ridge to Stob Diamh before heading down over Stob Garbh to the dam & the path back to the station. High score is for the location,not the trig as there is only about 1/3 of it left. A real must this one.

Parked in the small space near the cattle grid at the remains of the Cross of Greet. Went through the kissing gate which leads onto the access land covering White Hill. Followed along the fence directly to the summit & trig,wet underfoot in places which needed a bit of fence hopping & bog jumping but nothing too hard. Quite good fun,as long as you dont end up misjudging it & getting a boot full! Nice summit,with decent views & survey tower to add a bit of extra interest. 1hr 30mins car-trig-car.

From the main road between Bentham & Slaidburn turn left on to a rough track,its marked Petersbottom Lane on the OS map,but at the entrance there is a rock with a sign saying Crossdale Grains. About 100 yards down the track there is a pull in area where you can park out of sight of the main road. From here as with Painterman61s log,i followed the track up to the shooting lodge & then the grassy quad track straight to the trig. Had to nip over the fence but no problems. Not much in the way of views as the cloud was rolling over the Bowland fells to the West whereas to the East,Ingleborough was still topped with cloud. 57 minutes car-trig-car.

Ruined building opposite makes it easy to find.

Its a good few years since i last came up here & i had forgotten what a lovely spot it is. Walked up from Kendal station via Underbarrow road then on to the path which takes you up on to the limestone pavement that is Scout Scar. After visiting the viewing shelter i carried on to the trig further along the ridge. Descended by the wall & then the path on to Brigsteer road & back to Kendal town centre. Great views on the top.

Parked at side of the road opposite entrance to Bigland Hall Took footpath through the grounds & then path round the tarn. Swung east away from the main path up to a gate marked Private land keep out. Nipped through gate(naughty) & up to trig. Rtn same way. Very windy,

Turned up Mabbins Hall Lane from the village & parked in space at the side of the road just above the woods. Public footpath 100 yards further down the road which takes you up the field straight to the trig. Great views over Kent Estuary,slightly spoiled by the rapidly approaching rain clouds. Nice spot.

According to Bill Birkett's Complete Lakeland Fells book(1994)"The trig point & cairn lie just beyond(the 609m high point)nearer the rim of the screes". There is a large cairn at this point but no sign of the trig point. Whether it is a bolt or rivet which over the years has been covered by the very wide cairn would just be a guess & i wasn't about to start dismantling it to find out!

I've spent a lot of time on this pier(known locally as the Stone jetty) over the years from early childhood memories to messing about on here as a teenager to simply taking in the views & listening to the wading birds as a middle aged fool,i love this spot. Building which Lighthouse is attached was originally a railway station in the 1850's & jetty was used to load/unload the cargo from boats straight onto trains. Date is from my first logged photo but first visited in late 60's early 70's.
