Fabulous views across to Snowdon, back to Llanberis and down to Lynn Llydaw. I spent a clear night up here right next to the trig using just my sleeping bag (bivvy wasn't necessary). Nobody else up here after 9pm but plenty of noise from the folk opposite on Snowdon until they gave up. Sunset at about 9.45, then first walkers arrived at 4am but no more until 7 as I was leaving

Splendid little hill close to our holiday home. Excellent local pub in Darley Bridge The Three Stags Heads worth a visit! By the way, the nearby hamlet is called "Oaker" but that's reached by "Oker" Lane. As for the hill... "Oker Hill is thought to be the site of an ancient untrenched hill fort or hill station built by the Romans Legions. They had ousted the Britons who previously lived there and worked the local lead mines. The hill was given the Latin title of Occursus or hill of conflict. Oker is obviously the shortened form or corruption of this name. It is also referred to sometimes as Oaker Hill. "
