When for a bit of a cycle just to put some miles down so went to Brackley and back before locating this Trig. As I climbed up the slight slope, from Poundon, I could see a double fence with barbwire on the top of them. I wondered if i would be able to access it. When I got to the gate, it was open and no one was in the gate house, so cycled right up to it, without any problems. Not many cars in here either. It seems to have sunk a bit. No views. Coming down the hill the other side was good as its steeper. And with this Trig I have now finished all of the ones centred on Reading. Good thing I am moving in a week then! So I will have more Trigs to bag from my new house.

I had to take a bit of a detour as the roads were being resurfaced so were closed. When I got to the prison I cycled up through the carpark and left the bike by the fence line with an old gate and lump of concrete next to it. You can climb over the fence and then gate but the better way is to follow the FP past a farm shed and over 3 stiles and after about 200m there is a open gateway and the Trig is right in front of you in a field full of sheep. Was glad to get back to bike as I thought the prisoners might steal my bike!? Not sure how...

After bagging the 3 earlier Trigs today by car, I dumped it in Ludgershall and got on my bike. Not a bad cycle to this one but the A41 is rather a fast road. Trig is in a field of rip beans/peas next to a small pond. Had a it of difficulty finding the right tractor tracks to follow to get to it. Weather seems to be improving.

As I was passing I though I would give this Trig a try. I just walked up the track past the trailers and along the hedge line until I came across the Trig. At this time of year there is a bit of greenery around it but I was still able to find it easily. I didnt stop to do any trimming as I was in full view of a house so took a couple of photos and left the same way.

On the way back from a 71mile cycling along the Basingstoke canal I could make a small diversion and see if there were any red flags flying today. There werent, so I took my chance to bag this Trig. I have tried a couple of times before when going along this canal but havent managed it until now. I just followed the road, then track, then path up the hill through the gate and along another track until I came across it. It helps that it is painted white. Nice views of the heath but not much else as the hill is very flat.

It has been rebuilt as a toposcope and a plaque to the Planning Officer for Surrey, Theodore Vincent Scott Durrant put on it. Nice to see that dead trigs can have a new lease of life. Good views. Mostly went along road to got to this one. Only when i got to Marepond Farm did I go onto BWs. Again rather difficult to cycle along because of the sandy soil. Trig is made out of rocks. and has damage on one corner but that dosent spoil it much as it has good views and a big stone sofa in memory of Octavia Hill. She was a Victorian advocate for social housing and had nothing to do with Skoda. Coming back down was difficult as well as some of the BWs had been washed away. Then back to car as this was planed to be my last for today.

Coming down the BW from Hindhead was rather hard work. Very bumpy. Went through Haslemere and along A286 before turning off to go up Grayswood hill. I saw loads of people walking to catch the train to work. This is def commuter belt. Parked bike by gate with unfriendly sign on it, opposite FP. Climbed over gate and followed track up hill. Past a place where someone had burnt garden trimmings and there were tools there. No one was about so continued up hill. Through a very loose barbwire fence and strolled up hill to trig. It has decking put round it. This would make taking a picture of the FB difficult but my phone fitted through it. Good views. Nice coming down the hill from last Trig (Woolbeding). Well, until I had to go through a houses yard to follow FP to Trig. There I was met by two Labradors who were the most barky I have ever know. The two Labs I have at work hardly bark at all. It does make it feel like you are trespassing, but that is where the FP takes you!. At least the Labs had waggy tails. "Unexpected Trig in the Bagging area", I got for this one, when I tried to look it up on my personal Trig Database. Still a nice bonus (bagging 10 not 9 today). Getting to it wasn't too bad. Had to hop over a fence but the fields around the trig were all set to grass so easy to walk across. Getting back onto a road was fun and i ended up walking around a couple of fields because they had crops in them. Up FP from junction of Beverley Gn and Vernon Dr. The PF has fencing both sides to stop people walking on to Stanmore Golf Club land but there are open gates both sides of the Trig up can go through to get to Trig. I met some golfers who were going to Tee off next to Trig and they weren't bothered by me being there at all. Just as long as I dont push my bike across the fairway. Because of the early hour the sun was straight in my eyes and I could hardly see at times. Took Padidngton arm and left Canal at Marnham Fields. Made way though Northala Fields and used underpass to get to McDonalds then down A40 slip road, and turn up footpath just after foot bridge. Dumped car in Shipton Bellinger. Cycled up Old Coach Rd and met a couple of women jogging. One told me that there were no red flags flying today (that's good) and the other was convinced we had met before. When I said I was "The Trig Guy", she said "Oh yes, how many are you going to catch today?". At top of hill I went past a gate and along the very wide filed boundaries to Trig. It is hidden in a clump of small trees. Nice views.

On a bit of a quick 275 mile round trip to pick up a wheelchair we got on eBay. I persuaded the Mrs to stop and let me bag this Trig by getting some pick your own strawberries, that we saw on the way. Went past "New York" to get to Trig. Access is easy as you can drive a van to the end of the road and then its a short walk along bank by canal. Though covered in bird poo it is in very good condition. Having dinner in Grantham before driving back. Got lost as A46 was shut. Successful day, all in all.

Over A34 on bridge and then parked bike and up path by side of Water Tower. Followed Tractor tracks to Trig. Found it all in good order. Went back same way down Backtrack Rd and then down Stoke Charity Rd to Car. Last for today. 20miles dead. Should be home for lunch.

He then said to follow him and he took me right to trig, that is up slope above shooting range. Scouts were having an Airgun Competition. He did warn me that anyone who was looking for Trig should report to clubhouse, or you might get shot! Trig is deep in bushes so no views.

The FBM is just off it safe in its play pen. Good condition and not too overgrown. On way to next trig saw Hitchhiker though I dont think I could fit him on the back of the bike.

This is my NTSC trig, being No 525 (One for the Broadcast Eng of you)! I cycled along NCR5, as this FMB is just off it. To my detriment, I have never cycled along all of this NCR from Reading to Wallingford before, even though I used to work here. Lovely early morning trip being nice and sunny, if a little cold. Needed gloves until I got to the FMB. It is in good condition and safe in its play pen. Though getting rather overtaken by trees. I had to do some clearing to get good photos. Went back along the Thames path until Streatly as I wanted to stay out of the way of the Friday morning rush hour traffic. I think this is probably the last Trig I can get to by just cycling.

To start off with, I had to get past a "trapped" heard of cows that suddenly went past me crashing through some bushes. It was like a stampede! The BW near Yews Farm was very slippery from rain. After skidding about 4 times I ended up walking along it, until I found a better part for cycling. I didnt want to fall off and damage my leg like last year. Legs are feeling it now. Finally made it to trig after going straight past it, as its not at top of hill. Trig is average one but glad its the last one for today. <br>Now to get back to car in Whiteparish. Started off fine as the track got better as it went down hill into Downton. Glad for the rest as I let gravity do the work. As I started up hill out of town it started to rain. Not small stuff, it was heavy. Legs were complaining. But at least I was on my way back! Then towards top of hill at Redlynch I got a puncture. Found a covered bus stop and started to change inner tube. A bloke turned up to catch bus and wanted to know what I was doing. It was wet, and bike was muddy and I was not going to go out in rain to fix it! Soon had bike fixed but noticed my phone was buzzing. Even if it is IP65 rated water had got in headphone jack as was making it want headphones to be plugged in. Fingers, well everything was now muddy or wet. So made using phone hard to get best way to get back. Glad I had only 3 miles to car! Another bloke turned up in a big water proof coat who said I looked like a drowned rat. And still it peed it down. The rain wasnt cold but now this trip had turned into an ordeal. I was very glad to see the car. I programed phone to get me home and it reset its self. Dont tell me that the rain has broken it! I was able to get it working again and made it onto A30 before it crashed again and knew how to get back from there. Once home I was able to dry out phone and it is working again. Google drive was broken by windows update so I couldnt get photos of trip until today. Legs still feel wobbly this morning. Still I am 53 and feel every year of it! (I had done 47miles on and off road yesterday) But I expect I will be back out trig hunting soon. I have only about 40 to go to finish the "south" bit before the move will make it more difficult to get to them.

Ok. The next two Trigs proves that I am very mad! I needed to bag these today or they would be orphaned and woundnt be easy for me to bag them at a later date. It did rain a bit and the track got a bit slippery. It was roads from Downton so that made cycling easy. Peddle started to jam up again. A338 is busy road. Glad to get off it and go up BW that should take me straight to trig. It was very overgrown with wet grass that gave of pollen every time i knocked it. My phone was covered in it and i had to clean it or I couldnt look at the map on it. It did start to rain a bit. It was a hard slog up the hill. Through gate and into filed with cows in it. There was a sign saying "Cows with carves can be aggressive". Great. They ran away as I cycled along and didnt cause me any problems. Trig is on hill fort. Easy to find. But I was finding it hard going. My legs were feeling a bit weak. Still only one more trig to do! and it is sort of on the way back.

I was going to go along the FP through a field with cattle in it but a man on a quad bike told me that, "Cows dont like bikes. Better to take the BW down by the farm." I thanked him and went the way he suggested. It was probably a better way even if it was a bit steeper after the farm. Trig is tucked away in corner of field, behind hedge.

Good call to go along cycle route 24. Left peddle of bike started to jam up. The bearings must be going. It always the left one. Left 24 at West Dean. Then up rather steep BW to get to BW with trig on it. Saw black dear in fields. Parked bike just off BW and squeezed through gap in veg and over fence. Noting down where it was. I didnt want to have to search for bike for 30mins like i have done before. Took well defined tractor tracks to Trig, that was in nice neat square clear patch. Narrow road to cycle up to get to this one. It sits on a high plinth completely berried in hedge and prob difficult to find in a couple of weeks time. Good views all around. I was stopped by a tractor driver on way back to bike as he wanted to know what i was doing there. He was fine after i told him about the trig. Zooming down the hill was good fun, and a lot quicker!

Didnt like cycling along A38 even if it was down hill and i was catching up a tractor. Turned off just before Castle Air site. Nice after that though, not too hilly. Trig is next to hill fort and not at highest point. Good views over the Solar farms towards Plymouth. It was down hill all the way to the accommodation and fresh bead to make the breakfast toast with!

Easier cycle to this one as it was across the top of the hills to get to it. Cycled up Golf course road and parked bike by gas tank. Then a quick climb up back to Trig. Glad is wasnt later in the year when the bramble had grown. Saw some early golfers getting out of cars but didnt see anyone playing. Could have made a fortune collecting up all the lost golf balls though. Nice views.

I remember driving up this road to the Monkey Sanctuary. my word is it narrow as you approach the Trig. Sort of glad I cycled here even if it was quite hilly (over 800feet to get here by Google Maps). Good views all around on this sunny morning. Easy to spot from road as its on top of the hedge/bank. It was covered in Ivy that I removed. Top edge is damaged in a couple of places so "Slightly Damaged" Condition.

As I was passing, and I wanted to ask someone who had moved a trig how it was done, I called in on the off chance. I was greeted by a whole pack of farm dogs, all rather friendly though. I rang the house bell (its a bell on a chain) but no answer. After a little while the farmer, Graham, came out from one of the barns. While he was a little cold, he was willing to try and answer my questions on how he moved the trig. "Get a big JCB in and its easy. They aren't as heavy as you think", was his answer. He couldn't remember anything like the contractors name or how much it cost. He then allowed me to take some pictures of it. But it is a memorial to his grandparents so respect must be shown. Glad I was able to bag this one and get some useful info about how to move Trigs. The location for this trig has not been updated, so I have notified the website with the new coords (SP 11005 05026). What a Stink! Cycling up the track to get to this one, was rather smelly, to say the least. Trig sandwiched between comms tower and green hut. Bit of a dumping ground as well, around it. Not the best of todays ones. OK, on to the next and lets get away from this smell!

Got to this from Bedworth Ln by going through gate with "Private" sign on it. Then walked up FP. On the way back, I was stopped by a friendly enough bloke, who rented the yard at the end of the road, and was told, "If I wasn't here and opened them gates you wouldn't be able to go along here. This is private, not that it matters. But if them gates are locked you wont be able to come this way!" He was quite friendly and wasnt really upset, just wanted me to know that I should really get to the trig by going the long way around from the cinema carpark. Somehow I got the idea that he didn't get on too well with the others who lived on this private drive as he told me some stuff about them. So still, now you know, if his gates are shut, you aren't coming this way!

Early start to Mega-Friday where I am planing on bagging 12 trigs around Coventry. It was peeing it down when I started out but, by the time I got to this first trig, it had dried up and the sun was coming up. Trig is easy to find as its just of footpath.

Ignored the sign saying "no, motors, bikes, horses". And cycled down byway. Met 3 tractors and a car. No one said anything. Only waved thanks for me getting off track to let them pass. Trig has reddish hew. Not bad views. There is a patch of mowed grass, like a lawn, with signs saying "keep off the grass", next to trig. Used as a model airplane runway.

Cycled up from canal at Pewsey. Followed ROWs to trig. It is in a small, newly planted copse. No views. Trig has red paint patches. Saw farmers harvesting the crops. Had to watch out for tractors, with full trailers, zooming down the ROWs. Its easier just to get out of their way.

I kept cycling along the canal from the FMB I bagged in Great Bedwyn. It is a very nice part of the canal. With the tunnel and pumping station. Even a very strange Princess Leia / C3PO cross on a boat in Pewsey! It is an easy hop over a barbwire fence and stroll up the hill (earth works?) to the trig. Very good views all around. Pity that the trig has a bit knocked off a corner.

After bagging the last 4 by car, I thought that I better get on my bike to bag the next. For some reason I didn't do this last year, so as it is well within cycling distance, it was the target. Lovely early morning cycle along the Kennet and Avon Canal. While going up the road to Hannington the power cables above it made a very disconcerting crackling sound. Trig has been moved to edge of field. Quite easy to find. But it is in a very sorry condition. Spider gone and the FB has chip marks all around it. Lovely view to West. Good fun coming off down the hill. And got back home in time for "Pop Master" as well. :)

This trig has not only got a toposcope over its spider but, has been covered in brick work, so cant see FB. Not too sure why this was done. Others that have been topo-ised, have had FB left uncovered (see next log of TP5279). Great views to SW.

Second of the day. Left Mrs and dog in car again. Went to clubhouse and spoke with Club Secretary Ryan, who gladly gave consent. As long as I was aware of golf balls, etc. He was very pleased that I asked permission and said that they got several visits a year. I took a short, direct walk, out of club house, up hill to 5th tee. Trig is very well cared for and has a lovely fresh coat of white paint. It was a quick visit as it looked like rain. Got back to the car and the napping Mrs, before it started to pee it down. M32 on the way home was very wet! How i love motorway driving in the pouring rain!

We were driving through Bristol, l so I took the chance to bag a couple of trigs on the way. This trig is now behind a new housing development but after reading the previous logs, I decided it was worth a try. Leaving the Mrs and Neptune the dog, in the car, I rang the bell of No19 and a bloke called Freddy answered the door. He and his partner were very friendly and kindly invited me in to their house. The trig is behind, not only their wooden fence, but a wire security one as well. It is also being eaten by the surrounding vegetation. I didn't fancy climbing over two fences. Even if the owners did offer to find me a ladder. The house has great views over Temple Meads Station and Bristol in general. At night it must be spectacular. Not too sure that the Mrs understood why I was so excited about bagging this trig (or any one, to be honest!)

I spoke with the building supervisor (in his yellow hard hat and sun glasses) to see if I could get access to this Trig, that is behind a temp fence at the moment. But he said "Not until the new school is finished, in May 2018". I asked what were the plans for it and if it was safe. He assured me that it was and when the school is finished it will be in a little conservation area, with a gate to access it. I asked if he knew about the historic importance of the Trig and he said that he did. He even said that he had had it surveyed and said that it was found to be slightly out of true. So I made do with a picture of it behind its protective fencing.

Went along the coast path from Milford on Sea. Good views of the Needles. Even though some of the path has had to re-routed because of coastal erosion, I think this Trig will be quite safe for quite a while.

Left best to last. Found it rather hard work to get up here but worth it. First trig that I have found that was built out of bricks and not a concrete pillar. Great views over the Bristol Channel. Lovely end to the mornings trig hunting.

Went up FP from housing estate, as that was the shortest way, looking at the map. Would have been easier to cycle up to the top of the hill on the road and then follow farmers track. Its a trig in a hedge. Nice views.

Why is the New Forest called that? New Heath would be a better description. Nice that there is a 40MPH limit here as makes cycling nicer. Very average Trig with not much in way of views (because its so low and flat around here). Best bit was seeing the E-type Jag on way to next trig!

Please just go straight up there and come right back." I assured him that i would. Just a quick note that the Pillar you can see near the West entrance is an old base for an aerial. After the last two I visited were destroyed I am very happy to see this one in fine fettle. Good views as well. Cycling up the hill from Southsea Island doesnt seem as bad as it did 30 years ago!

My plan here was to only see if I could get a picture of the Trig from the ROW that passes the other side of the airfields fence. As i know from other loggers that it in not easy to get access to. But I didnt have much luck. I had walked past the fir trees and couldnt see where the Trig was. So started to make my way back, when I saw a small hole in the fence, at ground level. Hmm.. I thought, "will i see if i can find the Trig?" And I crawled through it. Trig is next to disused runway near some trees that hide it from the fence line. It was in good condition but I didnt hang around. So took some pics and darted back under the fence.

After being lucky with the weather for the earlier ones today, it peed it down while getting to this one. I left my bike at one point and continued up the path in the pouring rain. Saw chap in gig being pulled by 3 ponies on way back. Sort of made up for getting so wet!

My word is this a pampered Trig! it even has its own avenue of trees leading up to it. (Made up for the last one.) I liked the very cute pigs just inside the field, by the gate, as well.

Bike chain broke when going up the hill to this one so had to roll back down to get the car. Good thing it was mostly down hill. Parked the car in the Whiteleaf Carpark and walked up Peters Ln and hopped over the gate and then doubled back along the field edge to the trig. I could see what remains of Didcot Power Station in the distance.

Rather a long walk around edge of newly planted field to get to this uninspiring trig. It might be close to a train line and you can hear the trains but not really see them. Funny place for a TP as the land is rather low here and you cant see much.

This is actually in the field behind the hedge. Best way of accessing it is to go to the gate to the NE of the TP on the road and then walk back. This side of the hedge had been cut back using a flayer so surprised the TP isnt more damaged.

I came across the runner a bit further up the road coming the other way. Ones at the back were more friendly ans would say Hi, then the front runners.

This Trig is in an overlooked field with horses in it. I parked bike at the masts and walked along field with harvested crop to the small copice and then tried to access the field with Trig in it. Only to find electric barbwire short fence. Quick roll under it dash up to Trig, take pics and then roll under wire and back through gap in hedge. Felt a bit Secret Squirrel.

Near-ish memorial to the 625 Squadron on Limber Hill going to Binbrook. Because of the newly planted hedge it is much easier to get into the field from this road then the one with the Trig on and to walk around the edge to it.

Rather further then I thought to get to this one. Went past Manby and the Terrain Hopper factory, but still a bit early to call in. I walked up the wrong side of the ditch to get to this Trig and met a bloke in a 4WD who asked me what I was doing. When I said about getting to the trig he said that i would have to go back and go along the other side. I thanked him and he seemed OK with it. After getting over rather rusty gate, walk to Trig was ok and the trig its self is up on a mound and leaning. Loads of wind turbines can be seen out to the coast.

I was passing so thought I would try and bag this one. Rang bell at No 21 and a very old grumpy man came to the door. I think he was in a lot of pain. I asked if I could get to the Trig and he gave his consent. The pillar is almost hidden with ivy reclaiming it. I accidentally knocked over the ladders but put them back. Absolutely no views of any sort, unless you like looking into the back windows of houses. An interesting trig just because its in someones back garden. Otherwise, very boring.

Hmm.. I must be getting tired! Cycled up farm drive as it is a bridleway. Blokes in farm yard told me where the BW goes. In a nice way. The BW gets you withing 50m of the trig but then you have to hop over a barbwire fence and into, what looks like, a pheasant feeding station. There was a trailer , but no-one about. I then bashed around in the stingers and bracken trying to find it. I was about to give up as I couldnt see it anywhere and didnt want too much noise, when, if by magic, I saw it. It was in a small clearing. Glad this is the last one for today as took a bit of a lie down, once i got back to the bike. Took it slow back to Chieveley but the over grown BW didnt help in a couple of places.

I went down ROW and parked bike just after the gate. About 5m after it there was a very obvious gap in the hedge, with scramble marks leading up to it, that goes into the field with the strange bamboo crop on it. I then followed the edge of this field round to the corner of the coppice. There was the remains of a barbwire fence. Be careful not to trip over it. The Trig was easy to spot once in the wood. No views. Rather uninteresting for the first one today.

They were doing a lot of roadworks on the road so i went up the path that started at the junction to the East and went along in the field on the other side of the hedgerow. By now I was completely soaked from head to toe. I cycled up the track to the house where there was a bloke angle grinding the gates in the rain. I asked if i could get access to the TP and he called over a woman. I think she must be the person others have called "the nanny". She wasnt too sure what i was after, but said i could come in and go anywhere in the garden. As i must have looked rather soggy, to say the least, i was quite surprised she was so accommodating. The ball on top of it has been moved and now there is only some stones on it, and the spider is now completely visible. The centre cap is missing. Still a rather strange colour green. No views except for the garden. Left via the front gate and said goodbye and thanked the bloke working on the gate. I do hope it stops raining or i will have a very soggy cycle home.

The gate at the reservoir was rather high for me to climb and looked rather rickety. The gate at the other side had been blocked up. And after I had walked all the way round i couldnt see any easy way in, so just took picture from outside the fence. The grass was rather wet and it started to rain on the way back to the bike.

But its rather nice to be up here on such a great day! The TP has a plaque saying what it is and it is an offense to damage it. The views from the Cleeve Hill memorial tree is much better. That is only a short distance from it. Now to get back for breakfast.

Cycled up the B4632 out of Winchcombe and then up the lane to the golf course and then along farm tracks. not too bad a cycle as the hills arent too steep, they just go on for a long time. Near the TP is a viewing station. Lovely cool wind up here and bright blue skys. The TP has Cotswold way pointers on it.

Got up early this morning and thought i would bag 3 Trigs before it got too hot. Cycled up byway from just outside Gretton. The TP is in a fenced off field but the barbwire is set rather high so easy to pop under. The spider is missing but still has FB. Nice views to be had getting up here but not at the TP, its self, as the bushes block them. Met a herd of cows going to be milked on the way down. They stopped to look at me but were quite friendly. Wizzed down the hill into Winchcombe.

What a difference 30 mins and a couple of miles makes! The sun has come out and it looks like it will be a hot sunny day. Got access to this TP from following footpaths around a field of wheat, off the Ridgeway. The Parish Council of Liddington have turned this TP into a viewing point. There is another pillar with the sights to be seen from up here. Lovely views over Swindon. Well worth the trip up the hill to this TP.

As this is only 2.5 miles away from TP6772, Watership Down, i decided to go the long way round. Thus turning a 5 mile cycle into a 15-20 one by going via Crux Easton. The walk up from the carpark just off the A34 is not bad but it is quite steep. I was glad it was dry. Views are very nice, a fitting TP to be my 50th! At least the cycle back to Kingsclere was mostly downhill.

Number 4 and last TP for today. Britwell Hill was rather hard work climbing up on bike. The TP wasn't really worth the effort. It is hidden just inside a gate in a field with some cows in it. Views are limited. Still, the best bit is its all down hill to Wallingford and lunch, now. Weeee....

Noumber 3 for today. Came across some cameramen taking pictures of the RAC 1000 Mile Trial for per-war cars. They had started in Edinburgh and i saw them going down the road close to TP4072 and Ewelme. Easy walk up edge of filed of wheat to get to TP. It is in good order and nice views over Oxfordshire countryside. Saw thew last car go by (number 41) when I got back to the road where I had left the bike.

Second of the day. Found a fledgling bird, in a distressed condition, caught on some brambles hanging upside down, when I was locking up my by on the gate by the Route 5 sign. Cut it free using my Secateurs. Looked fine but a bit dazed afterwards. Went up the footpath that had a sign saying beware lambs in field, but i didnt see any. Over another stile into a filed of corn. Followed it to edge and then walked up field edge to the clump of trees with TP. Yes, the TP is leaning a bit but otherwise OK. Nice views over Didcot and Oxfordshire country side. I Could see rain coming in, so headed back down the hill.

The first, of hopefully 4 today, around my old stamping ground so they should be easy to get. Took Bridal path heading north from A4130 as i had come from Wallingford. I was glad I was using my backup bike, a mounting bike with big knobbly tyres, as the path has long grass all over it and bumpy. The TP is rather over grown with Stingers and some brambles. I only had to knock them back to get access to it. Nice views over Didcot Power Station. Kept going along Bridal path until i came out on the Didcot Rd and turned right to get to my next TP.

Quickpenny is not a nice road to cycle along! Rather hilly and bendy with a lot of traffic going a long it. There is a pathway off it that take you to the TP. You will need to get through a smallish gap with brambles around it to get into the field. Take something to cut this back, if i was you. Ok views over Bath and towards Bristol. This will def be my last TP of the day. At least from here on, its down hill on to the cycle way and then should be flat-ish along Route 4 on the way back.

I did have plans to see if i could do more TP around Bath but my legs are telling me "no". So I bagged this one on the way to the Bristol to Bath Cycle way. this TP is on the top of a hillock in a park on the edge of Bath. It has been paint white and has quite a lot of "tagging" on it by kids, I expect. Nice views over Bath.

After managing to stay off the A367 on my way to Bath by going on the B3115, I did have to go a short way on it to get to this TP. Quite a lot of hills around here and my legs are feeling it. There is an open gateway to get onto a filed that leads to this TP after going through a small path in the hedge at the top of the grassy bank. TP had a round glass object on top of it that made it look a little like it had a Cristal Ball on it. Nice views over farmland.

TP number 4 and last for today. All were quite boring but now have done this corner of the M4/M3 corridor. Had a bit of an adventure trying to get to this one on my bike. Decided to go down Forrest Tracks to keep off the A30. That was a mistake, as there was logging in the area. Ended up trying to get to TP from open scrub land. Would have been OK but for drainage ditch that i had to get across with bike. Went back along A30 past Airfield but didnt see any planes taking off.

I really wanted to bag this one, as it is quite close to me and the views should be good. I read other people logs and know that it would be very Secret Squirrel. I worked out that probably the best way of getting there, with the least chance of bumping into anyone and staying away from any buildings, was to start in Whithurch Hill, just off the B471, on Goring Heath Rd. There is parking by the Sign saying The Chiltern Way Extension, if you need to drive there. I cycled, naturally. Note; the Wihtchurch Hill, is great to cycle down but not to climb up! Follow the Path heading East, past the houses and across the grass field through the gate saying, “This is a foot Path; No Bikes, Horses, etc” and on to the farm track way. Keep heading East for 1/10 mile and go down the Private track heading South. (You are now in Secret Squirrel Mode for about 0.6 of a mile!) At the end of this track follow the field edge on the south side heading towards the west. The field had crops in it but the boarder has been left as grass and had been cut, so was easy to follow. At corner of the filed head down hill towards the SE. There are loads of path ways into this wood and it is quite easy going. Heading SW cut down the wooded hill until you come out onto a set of grass fields. There were no animals in them. In a rather short distance there are 3 gates to cross until you get to the track coming up from Bozebown Farm. Carry on straight up through the second woodland and there is a gate at the top to get access to the field with the Trig Point in it. There is a bit of an animal track to follow along the edge of this filed that keeps you quite well hidden until you see the TP. The total distance from the carpark is about a mile. See JPG for path taken. I didn’t stay long but the views to the South, over the Thames Valley are quite good, even if it was overcast. Quite Please with bagging this one.

The TP was easy to find but i was slightly concerned as the weather looked like it was going to rain and it was getting rather dark. I hoped for a lovely sunset but that wasnt to be. Still very slippy but easy walk to Trig Point. It now has a new fence in front of it so difficult to get good picture of bracket. The track down to Blueberry was much nicer.
