I've logged this one as Couldn't Find It. We caught the train up from South Wales and stayed in Settle. Next day, train to Ribblehead and walked along the main road and up towards the trig following the dry stone wall. The weather was quite pleasant until we got to the top of the steep climb where it starts leveling out, and then it changed. Thick cloud, howling wind and rain made us turn back even though we must have been almost at the pillar. A wet and dismal walk back to the station where we had a lovely cup of tea standing by a real fire. A good call to turn back and live to Trig another day!!

I couldn't find this one - but that doesn't mean that it's gone. The area is very overgrown, there's lots of rubbish around and it looks like someone's back garden rather than a field so I didn't go in to have a proper look. REVISIT. I was cycling through Raglan a few weeks later and thought it might be worth the effort to pedal up for a second look for the trig. Yes, well worth it. The owners were out in the garden and immediately opened the gate for me, removed some mesh panels from the pillar and held the vegetation back so I could get a better photo. I agree, absolutely stunning views today. Cycled up from Garn Lakes over the coal tips and on up to the trig point. Busy, but great to see lots of people out enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. All down hill from here - well I suppose it would be!

Father Ted - love your comment! We parked in Undy church car park and walked along the flat lanes. Strange without hills. Took a while to find it but the OS Map app and GPS on my phone helped. Felt like I was cheating.

Really enjoyed the walk up from Grwyne Fawr car park via Gadair Fawr. Mission was to find the fallen over trig pillar - but it's gone. Presumably taken away when they were carrying out work on the surrounding paths. Lovely views over the Hay valley.

Cheated a bit here. We took the bikes to Cross Keys in the car then only cycled up the last couple of miles. I quite liked the imposing masts next to the trig. As usual, cracking views!

Great bike ride down from the old mine above Blaenafon following the track of the gas main. Wet and muddy today. What a mess! Rubbish everywhere. Good views though.

Great walk up to Table Mountain and on up to the trig for a lunch break. Lovely views all around to the mountain tops with other trig points. Pillar cracked about a third of its height.

Masonry pillar, bit rough but sound condition. We parked in the Grwyne Fawr valley, walking up through the woods and out over the top. From the trig, we went down into Llanthony for a cuppa in the priory then retraced our steps back to the car. One of the best walks.

We had this route planned. Walk up The Rangers path that starts off from the station car park. Somehow we ended up at Rhyd Ddu car park, also at a station. All was well with amazing views until we got to the ridge not far from the summit. 1000 ft drop on both sides! It was a good job that it was up in the clouds and we couldn't see down. This is the SCARIEST path I have ever been on!! Very busy and no views at the pillar.

Evening walk from Moelfre while on holiday. Beautiful sunset and saw bats on the way back at dusk. Easy but one of my favorites so far.

One of our longer walks to hunt down a trig. Walked up the old tramway to the Grwyne Fawr Reservoir and on up the track to the top. Great to see the gliders low overhead, launched from the Talgarth club.

A hard ride up from Pontypool. Cycled across the top, past the bomb craters, to Blaenafon for a spot of lunch in the Heritage Museum. Great day out!
