Parked at the Y fork road to access Routin Lynn waterfall. nt984367. Walked SE along the road for about 1km. No vehicle access. In fact signs stated no access. I took to walking this minor road and came across a diverted footpath sign. Followed this NE through the plantation. Came across a deer gate. Went through the deer gate to open field and followed the fence line N to another deer gate. Alas the pillar located within the deer fence and wood plantation. I settled for some photos through this fence. Full of optimism and a fantastic trig this turned out to be a damp squid. On peering through the fence I could see this pillar shows some hairline fractures at lower section. On the good side I observed at close up a buzzard.
Deer Gate Following a walk through the plantation came across the first of two deer gates.

Second of 2 today,Grey Pike being the other. This trig is positioned on a slight rise next to a cluster of stones and to its north it overlooks a paving platform. Also a non ionising radiation sign. Fantastic weather conditions, hot, blue sky and oh the views! Fantastic! However I kept one eye on an insect/beetle that was basking in the sun on the south facing side of this trig.

The 2nd of 2 trigs today. The off piste walk over Cotherstone Moor from Shacklesborough was fantastic. Unexpected deep ravines, erratics and the opportunity to see Plover, Lapwings and Curlew made this a well worth visit. The trig is positioned on a small rocky outcrop easily seen from afar. The recent prolonged hot, dry days made this potentially boggy trek into a delight to walk over. Teesdale at its best.

Lack of views due to winter conditions limits a grade of 5 for interest. The stone shelter close to this trig point provides an opportunity for a cuppa and chat on with other like minded walkers.

Parked near Ormathwaite and a circular route to the summit. Superb summer weather conditions. This trig is clearly host to a wealth of visitors. Fantastic views.
