Parked to the west near the intersection of Minley Road and Blackbushes Road and then walked through Minley Wood. Interesting water tower and unfortunately it looks like some unauthorised access and vandalism has occurred recently. Cupola dome has spike on top but unsure if this is the remains of the vane and/or a lightning conductor hence logged as possibly missing. Rivet has the same coordinates as the vane so it must be in the cupola directly underneath the vane and therefore inaccessible.

OS 1:25k map shows a path that goes right up to Minley Manor but this is blocked with signs warning of armed patrols, guard dogs and firearms training so decided to go no further. Got as far as the woods where the hill gets steeper but I could find no easy way through the woods. Since I was unprepared I turned round and headed back to the car. Approaching from the north may be the better option.

Spent some time here looking for the block but was unsuccessful. Measured the offsets numerous times and searched along and around the intersecting arcs. Used the drain cover as the main reference as the sign posts look new-ish and may not be in the same place as the ones used by the OS. Lots of brambles, stinging nettles and undergrowth. Many times the long bladed screwdriver I was using to prod the ground went in very easily like the soil was uncompacted. With other evidence nearby I wonder if the area was recently worked (utility pipe or similar) and this destroyed the block. The previous person to have visited this TP couldnít find it either. Or the block is still there and I missed it...

Inner gates locked. Will need to come back again. Return visit 02 September 2018 at 0816 - was riding past and saw that both the outer and inner gates were open. Took a quick detour to get a position fix and a few photos. Bolt in good condition.

Suspect the trig might have been destroyed when the A331/A31 upgrades were built in the 90's. If it has survived it will be located in a triangle of land between the A31 and the local Hogs Back Road. Will need to return again with some tools to assist with finding it.
