Flagstaff visible and in place. Unable to tell if this is the same flagstaff in the same location as computed by the OS in 1955. Not possible to access tower to investigate the bolt. I understand though that the church does occasionally run an open house which includes the opportunity to go up to the top of the tower so there maybe the opportunity to find the bolt in the future.

Suspect the trig might have been destroyed when the A331/A31 upgrades were built in the 90's. If it has survived it will be located in a triangle of land between the A31 and the local Hogs Back Road. Will need to return again with some tools to assist with finding it.

Was visiting the geomatics/survey department for an undergrad open day (date and time is approximate though it definitely was sometime in November 1996). Then saw this trig pillar almost every weekday during term time from 1997 to 2000 when I was going to and from lectures in the Bedson Building. Last saw the trig pillar in November 2007 and itís still there. Need to go back for photos and a position fix.
