Visited during a trigpoint-bagging bike ride. Took a bit of finding, the OS 1:50,000 map showed the pillar to be on Retford Golf Course but it wasn’t clear where. I asked a few friendly golfers who were regulars on the course but had never seen it. I referred to the 1:25,000 map on the OS phone map and tracked it down to a hedge next to a (public) footpath, wherein the pillar is solidly buried – I doubt you’d notice it if you weren’t looking for it. Some damage to the top of the pillar, possibly from hedge trimming machinery.
