Second visit to this point, first visit in Aug 07.Traveled up the Seggie Burn and onto the Burn of Brecklee. branched off to Laxo Water and walked around the top. end. Walked up to the slight ridge and followed it to the trig. Views much better than my last visit and raised the score from 4 to 6. Returned via the Mill Burn.

Started at the North Roe school and walked up the Uyea track till the ford which has new been culverted. Follow the stream up and keep fence on the right and on up to the pillar. Great panoramic views, the sun was dipping down to Ronas Hill and although cold the sun made the walk pleasant after a couple of weeks of persistent gales.

Not visited this one since May 05. This hill is one of Shetlands 19 Marilyn's. Started at HU285781 on the B9078 and followed the track up to Dula Burn and tracked this all the way to Crookna Water. Stopped for a quick bite, serenaded? by a pair of Golden Plovers both within 10m for duration. Tracked westwards up to trig. An easy walk all the way and made pleasant by good weather.

Followed the route in the guide:-Dundee Walks by James Carron starting at Balkaello Community Wood. takes in the hill Fort site before climbing to the cairn on Balluderon Hill, erected in the memory of Sid Scroggie, who despite loosing his sight and part of his leg during WW2 pursued a passion for the great outdoors. The masts on Craigowl hill are the next landmark with the trig sandwiched between two compounds, excellent views over Dundee and the Firth of Tay

First climbed this in Aug 04 and aproached from Burn of Lunklet. Have tried twice to reach it since, via Weisdale Hill but have been thwarted by time and weather. This time started from Upper Kergord HU4032455655 and had a pleasant climb in sunny but breezy conditions. Picked up the burn to the south east of the top and followed it up.

Parked at Methodist church and walked a short way along track before striking off right up hill. Easy walk to the top which is barren peat with a few large rocks . Carried on down and around Vivilie Loch to coast and then westwards to Culswick Broch, well worth the detour. Completed walk by track back to church.

Started from the Clousta road at HU3199955925 and followed the shoreline of Loch of Vaara to a fenceline that takes you to the top. Heather covered slopes which are very wet at this time of year. Great views over aith and on to Scalla Field eastwards and Muckle Roe with South Ward visdible. Weather a fine autumnal afternoon. Definately not a dud!

Walked round Mid Field from Collafirth Hill to the boulder strewn slopes of Ronas Hill Steady climb to the summit. Windy conditions and warm, but haze restricted the stunning views from Shetlands highest Marilyn. despite car park being full only saw one group.

Excellent day for a trip to this pillar. Sun and a stiff breeze to keep the dreaded bugs away. Walked on the southern route passed Cradle Holm where they used to erect a precarious ariel cableway with cradle to gain access to the rocky outcrop, allowing sheep to be transported to graze on the top of the 50m stack. The cradle was erected each July and removed in November and consisted of a box large enough for a man and a sheep slung from two cables. The cradle was in use till 1864. Stunning views back to Bressay and Mainland Shetland and if you dare, down the sheer 180m cliff face with its stupendous bird colonies.

Parked just round bend from Weisdale Hill viewpoint and traversed the gentle rise all the way to the trigpoint which only came into view at the end. The weather that had been sunny at the start had taken a turn for the worse with force 5 winds and very overcast. Good views both northwards and southwards along the west side of Shetland, giving an alternative view from the ubiquitous viewpoint version seen by most.
