Parked at Catacol and took path up from just south of the village. Once at highest point of path walked due east up the hill. A beautifully sunny day so the steep climb/descent was fine but can imagine it'll be hard work when wet/slippery.

Approached this from forest in the west. Walk up from directly south too tricky due to neck high ferns so walked up through forest and hopped over fence. Descended through fern forest which was fine if not hard work as they really are densely packed. Unlike the other trigs I've so far found on Arran this week, this one hasn't been painted in the last few weeks and therefore paint is flaking (this is fine) and flush bracket vaguely readable.

A very easy bag up a dirt track next to a small power station (?). Once again the person with the white gloss has been out and about. Although they wipe clean the tribrach the grooves under the tribrach tie hooks are filled in with paint; just as well no-one needs to tie down their theodolites any more. Grass white and flush bracket over painted with gloss. I think it's nice that someone cares to paint them, but a tad more care would not go amiss - and please stop painting the brass flush brackets!

Low cloud base made for a wet walk up to this trig in July. Parked on String Road and walked up. Boggy underfoot. Somebody has recently re-painted this as the surrounding grass still has white gloss on. Shame the trig painter feels the need to obliterate the FB with black gloss. Not necessary.

A wonderful setting for a trig. Took ferry over from Lamlash and walked up the path (there is only one) to the peak. Prayer flags and a stunningly hot day made it a beautiful scene. Fantastic views across to mainland Scotland, Ailsa Craig etc.

Parked car near entrance to Carcade holiday homes (track is gated east of this) and walked up very muddy track (plenty of cow sewage sloshing around). Plinth is in hedge to north of path circa 400m from where we parked (you have another gate to pass). You can just about see if from path but it's easier to spot if you hop on the hedge.

Approached this from path just to the west. There is a well trodden footpath through to the rocks. A spot obviously used by locals for liaisons - came across condom packets and a pair of underpants enroute. Have tried this one before to no avail. Thought after recent comments it would be impossible but turned out to be a really easy bag. Parked at entrance to golf practice area and walked on main road to field junction. You can see the trig from the road! There is also a path through the hedge beaten out. I wore long trousers, long sleeves and gardening gloves for this trig because seeing it is one thing, accessing it is another. A fight through various brambles, some blood drawing, and I was there. Quite exhilarating. Plug missing and some damage to the corner.

A tad hard to find. Parking tricky on this lane as private land owners so, on local advice, parked to east where road widens. Walked back to gate that says "please keep closed" whilst chatting to a local farmer. You don't need to go as far as the horses - just as well as they looked pretty keen and frisky. Trig in hedge on concrete plinth but pretty overgrown. Took 1.5cm gash in head jumping up to find it. All in the duty of a trig find.

Walked from field to the north to reach this. Middle field style very boggy so waded across (bring wellies or flipflops for this bit). Trig visible from both sides of hedge but only just. Can't believe hedge growth since previous visitors. No sign of FB nor any ways of viewing it without a machete. Which I forgot to pack.

Parked to the road west of the trig just about cattle trig. A fine stomp across boggy gorse to bag this one. Suggest you give this one a mist if there has been a wet winter!

Found it after a hunt in the wrong direction. There is a small gate about 100m from the entrance to the reservoir however it's 'down' the road depending from which direction you start! Head north west from the entrance of the reservoir.

This certainly isn't here. Not only can't we find it but it's not on the latest Explorer map for Exeter. However it isn't on my 1993 Pathfinder of Exeter either - which pre-dates the new A303. This suggestions it was missing way before the new road.

I work here so very easy to bag this one! And as I was in the geodesy section we actually used it a couple of times. It was installed during the SciNet campaign I believe in the early to mid 1990s. It is a buried block with small removable disk as a cover.
