Lovely views. Permissive paths from the Cotswold way and the trig is just outside the fence protecting the Kelston Clump woodland. I've stared at this hill from the work tea room for years and it was lovely to finally get here. The only hill I've been to with an advertised hash tag too! (#kelstonroundhill) young lad learning to fly his kit too.

What a lovely little hill! Parked to the SW, along the right of way and a friendly wave from the farmer, steep huff and puff straight up the good path. Fabulous views all round for our second of the day. The hill (for those who were wondering below) is a little inlier of the Burrington oolitic limestone (same as the base of the ridge) and is the remnant of another thrust sheet that stands above the younger (and softer) Mercia mudstone which makes up the plain.

Lovely spot, parked in Draycott and then followed the West Mendip Way up to the ridge, then lovely hazy views walking along through the access land. A good day for gliding too, with 8 in the air over the pillar from the airfield to the N. The ROC post was a nice surprise, looks to be in good condition and shaft closed by a bolted piece of ply. Also a locked corrugated ex-military looking shed and the remains of a observing post.

Walked around the edge of the (National Trust!)golf course. In a patch of brambles but easily trodden down. Fb needs digging out again. Nice enough views over a meander in the Avon but somewhat spoiled by the noise of the portway ( and the golf course).

Challenging to say the least. Very well camoflaged by brambles and difficult to get close through the undergrowth. It took me about 10mins and the picture with the dormer windows to locate it. Wouldn't be surprised if I was reported as a prowler. Perhaps we should make friends with the house owner! It's a pity because the woods on approach are very nice.

Note to self: Don't go trigpointing in a hail storm without waterproof trousers. Walked up from the farm, round the field adjacent to the trig and nipped over the stile to find the trig, plenty of well trodden paths. Would have been quite a nice view if it wasn't for the gale force winds and hail coming up the the Bristol channel. Nice enough views over Bristol and beyond.

A sunset bag for this slightly "different" trig in a rather lovely spot. Great views over Brecon and to Pen y Fan. Walked up from Brecon on well marked path through cow field ( my least fave type; don't like the way they look at me). Someone was using it as a camera mount when arrived.

Glorius trig. These are the ones I really do it for. Approached same as RW, and parked in a similar spot I think. It's a fair ascent, and my 6 months chained to a desk writing a thesis definitely showed. Near to the red kite feede ing station so there were kites everywhere!

Parked at the end of the lane to the west and walked the 800m to the trig. As mentioned it's the other side of the hedge from the path, but can be easily accessed from the field to the north. Fabulous views over Bristol and beyond to Wales, with Purdown, Clifton suspension bridge, the first(?) Severn bridge and the Wills building all clear, and views to the hills in south Wales. This was my first bag since moving to Bristol, and my first with my iPhone, which promptly ran out of battery so no pics!

A tricky one, and the hardest of my day - I like the idea that it's shy. It's well buried in the hedge and you really need a GPS to find it. I scrambled up from the track to the north, walked along the hedge through a recently cut corn field. Exited more easily walking along the field boundaries to a more easy duck through to the path. Looks in good condition but you can't get very close.

Nice little spot this, on a little rise above the fenland with lovely open views to the north with lots of glorious wind turbines adding something to the flat landscape, Good views to the South too if you get around the hedge. Parked on the B road to the north, nice stroll up the hill on a good path to the trig which is well out of the hedge, next to a stile and on a very firm concrete plinth.

Public footpath runs through the field, I didn't like the look of the big gate at the end of the Little America industrial estate so I parked at the end of the road and walked to it on the public footpaths. Still surviving the encroachment of Cambourne, it's next to a new tarmac path in the hedgrow - very new planting either side of it. Looks like it will survive but may become more and more in a hedge! The new noddy housing of Cambourne (a village entirely of noddy housing) is on almost all sides now, and the new build makes it a bit tricky to orient yourself on the map. I've logged it as slightly damaged only because it's been graffitied - apart from that it's in pretty cood condition.

A little odd - it's on a little patch of access land but there's no way to get to the access land without a spot of tresspass, or navigating a barbed wire fence. We parked in the layby at the SW corner and walked up the track and through a few private fields to get to it, then scrambled over some barbed wire to get out. Alright views but given the hassle to get to it not the most exciting bag!

I came from the North up Cefn Cwn Llywch and over Pen y Fan but the easiest access would be from the car park by the reservoir to the East. The site was occupied by a member of HM armed forces acting as a base station for a "NavEx" who very kindly took a picture of me and the trig.

Can see the Gareg Lwyd pillar with a pair of binoculars too.
