2/3 from Builth Wells. Headed up along the Wye Valley Walk. Diverged from the bath just as the path entered the common. Easy paths to follow across the heathland. Trig is in good condition with spider and FB intact.

Had a bit of advice when passing Llwyn gwyn (Pant y Colly trig) from the lady owner on the best place to stop and walk to this one so took it and all worked out well (Very much like Father Ted's route). Drove to high point over the road/common land and passed trig to Pant Y Llyn track. Walked up here and right to new way marker above lake. From here had a spot of lunch and then over to trig which could be seen from where I sat. Trig in good condition, cap missing, Flush Bracket good and 1 sight hole open. Great views and another wild open space, super!

Went for a sunrise stroll but too cloudy. Very windy but good views. Walked down to Pant y Llyn and then back to van. I'd parked just off the road

From Garth initially on the Wye Valley Walk then across the grassy common / moorland, much easier going than expected. Pity about the low mist, but at least pleasantly cool for walking. The red dragons are now very faded.

Gloomy, with heavy cloud and swirling mist in valleys. Nice, open, rarely visited moorland. New memorial obelisk, about a meter high, on nearby hump overlooking Pant y Llyn.

Stopped by this one whilst driving up to North Wales for a weekend. Lovely weather and a fine hill. Parked on the lane to the SW and an easy dog leg walk up from there.

From minor road to SW. Short circular walk of around 4 miles to take in a couple of tumps also. Pillar found vgc in grassy upland. Has the residue of a white paint job, and a red Welsh dragon stencilled on all 4 faces. Cap missing, no plug; RHD side sight hole open. Lovely 360deg panorama of the Mynydd Epynt.

A long pull up from the B4520. After climbs to pillars hidden in woods and on grey misty days, this was a joy to visit!

Not been looked after and showing signs of wear, a good coat of paint and a bit of love and attention and the trig point looks in better order, excellent views when walking to the trig point

Easy up from the road safe parking at the closest point to the trig as the road swings SE. firm ground underfoot. Extensive if hazy views.

Nice viewpoint,easy quick access,spoilt by trail bikers near the pillar buzzing past 10 feet away,does it make them feel big?
