1 metre section of old pillar lying just to N of its replacement, with 'root' of FB remaining in recess. Top section with spider doubtless removed by OS at the time. Well spotted Duncan!

Piece of concrete showing FB fixing point and the beveled edge to the corners that pillars have . New pillar only few meters away .

I have found what I believe to be the remains of this one - there is a piece of concrete about 3 metres to the North West of its replacement, the clues to this being the remains (see images) are the outline of the Flush Bracket recess with a small brass piece left of what would of been the fixing and the top of a sighting hole about 3cm below - what do you think?

On my door step this one, great place, on a clear day North Downs visible - Pillar Destroyed and replaced by S3701 - Any idea why?
