Current pillar appears to have been placed on base of old, offset a little with remains of centre hole visible facing summit shelter cairn. Coordinates from OS archive are for Old Trig and appear to indicate the summit shelter, c4m ENE from surviving pillar. However the TPUK coordinates are only 1m north. I could find no other remains: a bit cold and drizzly for an extended search. I take it the Old Trig was a different entity and the current pillar has been rebuilt approx at location of old.

Remains of base under newer pillar Edge of centre hole apparent on site but poor photo

I have been here twice , first time as logged here as I was reaching the end of my first Munro round. I remember very little about it as I met and chatted to a retired GP from Applecross. My score is based on the position not the condition. The weather was excellent. Less so the next time in winter conditions with friends
