I know this superb building very well having lived in Salisbury and visited it countless times, often for concerts and to view the Magna Carta on display in the Chapter House. Always a pleasure to return here just simply to walk around the ancient streets & admire the architecture (was definitely NOT Christmas shopping!) Many happy memories of living and working in Salisbury.

Perhaps the finest cathedral in Britain, certainly the tallest spire in the UK at just over 400ft. Have driven through Salisbury on the A36 soooo many times, but this my first visit to the city to collect the last 5 trigs in the locale and bag a pocketful of cut benchmarks etc. A lovely day, the sun was shining, we had lunch in the cathedral cafe and had just photographed the Old Sarum surface block - some days are just better than others!

The Cathedral Church of St Mary stands inside The Close in the heart of Salisbury. Its 400 foot, 14th century spire is surely one of the most spectacular intersected stations. Most of this stunning building dates from the 13th century and stands in a fantastic setting surrounded by the lawns of the former churchyard and the fine houses of The Close. The interior is also very beautiful and houses many old tombs and an original copy of the Magna Carta. Naturally it is a Grade I listed building. It also has FB 60 on about the third buttress south of the visitor entrance on the west wall of the cloisters.
