A fine rural location and a fine pillar to complement it; early evening sun setting the scene nicely. Walked up from road with Alex C after visiting the tidal island of the same name. Pillar vgc with smooth screed finish; original top cap retained, raiseed lettering; front sight hole open. Panoramic views.

Satisfying conclusion to a super spring day, with a gentle walk up here alongside Jon as the bright evening light lit up the face of the pillar, and the Dumfries & Galloway coast and hills gave an enchanting backdrop. Hope to be doing a lot more bagging in this area in the not too distant future.

A lovely evening to be going Loco down at Barlocco trig pillar

vgc, metal cap, wide raised letters, on grassed tumulus apparently. Pleasing compact grassy summit, scrubby pasture. Nice view, despite rain.
