First visit to Richmond -stayed overnight (on long drive from Southampton to Perthshire) - magnificent castle remains, and after climbing an intersected station yesterday, I too was able to reach out and touch this one. Also enjoyed visiting the restored Richmond railway station, and Easby Abbey by way of a riverside walk.

C2C#15: day off in Richmond. Castle well worth the entrance fee, with superb views from the roof of the keep. Extra marks for being able to touch the IS (I think a first for me) and also finding CJO's rivet; shiny brass c0.6mm diameter in SE corner (? - opp corner to flagpole) of the roof walkway.

snow on the ground, access to the tower was not permitted today due to snow on the roof which was unfortunate as there is also a rivet up there at NZ1713998473. Entry is £4.70. NZ42 T285 RIVET and FLAGSTAFF.
