Cycled along more side roads until I found myself on A4089. Good fun playing with the traffic. Went past Wembley Station and straight across Junction into Barn Hill. At the corner, I left road and followed the foot path to Trig. Much better looked after then last one I visited. Some nice views.

(251) Alighted at Preston Road Station, and then it was a steady 15 minute walk to the pillar. Made all the better thanks to some decent early morning sunshine. Situated in pleasant surroundings, with good views of Wembley stadium, and beyond. Painted white, with no graffiti, and sporting an asphalt plug. FB slightly 'distorted' around the number - a production fault, maybe? But a good looking pillar, in a nice location.

Long walk down from Belmont through predominantly Indian North London, wonderful cooking smells. One of those unexpectedly lovely places you sometimes find whilst trigging - excellent views of Wembley Stadium, all the way to the N Downs, and east across to Docklands with the sun setting on all the towers there, plus a clean pond to boot. Asphalt cap, N s/hole open, two chipped corners but otherwise fine.

Up here for an appointment at St. Marks Hospital, Harrow so decided to bag a trig before returning home. Parked close to 99 Barn Hill (OK when there are no events at Wembley Stadium) and trig is a short walk up the hill. An attractive park with a pond and plenty of seats - a good place to rest up before tackling the trip home.

Good views of the stadium in spite of the grey, windy, drizzly conditions. The plug is resin. The flush bracket has a 'raised S'. The sightholes are filled and it's been quite nicely painted white although some of this is peeling off now.

I had some time on my hands so a trip to London was in order. This was my first stop-off. I took the tube to Preston Road and walked up the hill from there. A pleasant enough but somewhat muddy final hundred yards or so through the woodland to the open space by the pond where the pillar is situated. As others have mentioned, itís nice coat of white paint is daubed with mud. It looks like some pillock has used it as a boot scraper. The centre plug has been removed and the hole filled with resin or tar-mac. That aside, itís in good condition. The view is pleasant enough, particularly to the south towards the new National Stadium at Wembley. From here, I walked down the other side of the hill to the surface block on the A4140 (TP0421).
