Nothing found worth digging for. GR is a grassed playing area adjacent to fence to back garden of house to which TP6294 Sydney was lost.

Large area of grassland to search in a slightly dodgy looking neighbourhood - may be possible with aid of an OS sketch

This was established in 1956 as a replacement (I'd guess) for the Sidney pillar, which went at the same time. The pillar was almost certainly in the back garden of the adjacent house, The block is 8m SW of the old pillar location, but that doesn't help find it. There's an open patch of grass, with an electricity sub-station (not in there, surely?). I reckoned about 100 sq m of ground to prod to find this without a sketch, without trying to second-guess the OS about where they might locate it. It's just impossible without a sketch - I tried for 30 mins. The area is not in the upper social class, and I feared abuse if I stayed too long, pawing at the ground with my pole.
