Obviously no bolt, but an attractive lighthouse and a fascinating harbour. Visited after a very interesting trip to the Aquarium

OS records show bolt destroyed May 1966. A trig is indicated on 1961 OS 1:2k5 map, it would have been on roof of a now roofless stone building beyond end of old mineral railway; map zoom not good (unless one subscribes!) but looks like it says 'work house', although 1847 and 1901 directories don't seem to list one for Maryport, so building's use unknown.

GPS (and Google Earth) puts it on the end of the derelict railway track that used to bring in (or take out) coal. It doesn't look to be actually on the old pier. Lighthouse nearby. You can drive round to it, otherwise you have to walk round the marinas. Destroyed 1966, so that works with the railway. Pier goes back to 1800s

Old Railway footings The bolt would have been on the the end of the railway, not actually on the pier
