Revisit after recent reports back in December that the flagstaff is missing. As my photos show, the flagstaff is still present in its new location. Hence, logged again as remains

By Barbara for HCU3A. No flagstaff again, despite previous log. So 'destroyed' is the status, I'd say

Revisit to photograph the cut benchmark, which can be found on the north face. However, I also found something else - the flagstaff is back! Don't know whether it is the same flagstaff and it is no longer on the tower. Instead, they have placed it in the north east corner of the church yard next to the war memorial. Hence, I would suggest changing the status of this trig point to 'remains'.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Wistaston, is yet another Crewe church in which the trig has been destroyed. Nevertheless, a lovely church, which was built in 1827–28, and which is a grade II listed building. The flagstaff, however, is long gone, and has not been replaced. Did not investigate the rivet.

No sign of a flagpole, so may well be gone. OS DB does not say destroyed. There is a rivet up there, as well, on the DB - see sketch. (I had to assume that the flag was central, which is not a given) No one about, so I couldn't get up. May try again. St Mary's - The present church was built in 1827–28
