Car park to N on Underbarrow Road then a walk South along Scout Scar leads to the mushroom viewing platform and then keep going to the trig point. Superb views all around even in slightly dodgy weather, I could see the Langdale Pikes and there is a great view of Morecambe Bay. The Mushroom has a view finder where you could spend ages on a clear day picking out the fells. The trig itself is missing the top plug cap but is in a generally good condition. A good easy but rewarding trig point.

Walked up from Kendal station via Underbarrow road then on to the path which takes you up on to the limestone pavement that is Scout Scar. After visiting the viewing shelter i carried on to the trig further along the ridge. Descended by the wall & then the path on to Brigsteer road & back to Kendal town centre. Great views on the top.
