SS72 T107 Flagstaff,OS have Rivet at same location & both destroyed June 1976. Original Wooden Castle built in the 11th century. First stone castle built in 1228. By 1274 the castle was beginning to decay with stone from the castle being used for local buildings. In total ruin by 1326. A narrow path winds around castle to top where you can still see some of the old brickwork.
