Church of St John the Baptist, Grade I listed, late 14thC. OS lists Bolt and Flagstaff. No access for the Bolt, but Flagstaff flying the union flag atop the tower. All fencing now gone so cut benchmark can be viewed, althougha little tricksie to locate.

Seems like cheating to be able to notch up a TP on the way into M&S for some teabags! Still, they all count. As Roger Templeman has noted elsewhere, the church also a benchmark but you can't get close enough to see it because there are fences to protect you from falling masonry.

The Grade I listed, Victorian restored medieval Church of St John the Baptist stands in the north of Yeovil town centre. A flagstaff still stands proud on top of the four stage tower. The church was open but there was no access to the roof. The church yard is surrounded by a mixture of shops, houses and offices of central Yeovil.
