A day trip to the cathedral with our local history society from Cardiff. This trig point was the first thing I photographed after getting off the minibus.

First time back to Tewkesbury since being made redundant in Nov 2014, had worked there for 13 years so saw the Abbey hundreds of times. Fantastic building.

Abbey Church of St Mary, a Grade I listed building. Anglican Parish Church now, was a Benedictine Abbey founded 1087. OS lists 2 elements for this trig: Bolt - conducted tours of the tower in summer months, check the website for details; Flagstaff - seems to use the weather vane. Had to ask the verger about this as it doesn't look like a FS, but was assured it is one. However, suspect this is not what the OS sighted to when they computed it in 1949, otherwise they might have described the trig as a Vane. 1GL bolt (partially obscured) on N side and cut benchmark on S side.
