Parking in the old quarry entrance (closed off by large rocks) Bolt is located a few meters away near the road edge, easily spotted and in good condition.

Revisit because (a) looked like a suitable route to Kirk Hill pillar; (b) I didn't take a GPS reading last time; (c) the weather was as glorious today as it had been awful last October. ~~ 07/10/21 First of 15 today, couldn't appreciate the views really lousy weather!

Got here just as the school run was starting. There must have been at least 3 cars!!! but easy parking right next to it, so I was out of the way.

1" bolt concreted into mossy rock outcrop 1.5 m south of road. In dark found ok.

Easy roadsider. Nice peaceful location with Newcastleton FBM a few hundred yards up the hill as a bonus. The quarry seems to be out of use again - there are rocks across the entrance.

Foul weather, and when I arrived I feared the bolt would be beneath a puddle. However, it is a very straightforward find on top of the rock by the side of the puddle.
