Flagstaff in place, also visited the Cut BM at the base of the west face of the tower.

Flagstaff intact; no attempt to find brass centre mark. The usual Sunday evening southbound stop at the Wetherby Whaler, at last got round to logging the IS.

Agree with TEDs analysis of the relative positions of the brass centre mark and the flagstaff. Maybe the flagstaff is not in the original location. From the ground the flagstaff does look to have some "age" and is not an obvious recent renewal. Cut BM on west face of tower abutment.

St James parish church. Flagstaff with flag on a cold and windy morning. The OS trig marks database lists the flagstaff as (440378.094,448377.375) and the Brass Centre Mark as (440381.406,448378.406) which puts the centre mark at 3.3m E and 1m N from the flagstaff. But the latter is within 1m of the NE corner of the tower. So either the brass mark is not on the tower but further to NE on a sloping roof or else maybe the flagstaff has been repositioned from the W side of the tower (or else my sums are wrong). Width of tower 1m from ground measured as approx 4.7m.
