Heading W for Keswick so left car across the road after finding the Berntsen. Didn't spend too long searching for this as all indications are that it's beneath the new cycle-way tarmac.... but maybe some prodding in the verge might produce an upset to received thinking? It's happened before.

Going with consensus on this one: cycle path; margins too stony to probe... and there's this new looking rivet on top of the FBM just up the road, which I made the rather unpleasant trek back up the A66 to revisit.

I agree - under the cycle track. And I saw the newish rivet added to the FBM up the road - so it looks a good bet for a replacement. So that means the FBM defines the height to the nth degree, whereas the rivet on top of it defines the GR to the nth degree - am I right?
