After an initial recce I applied for and got official permission to enter the compound. Mid-summer, the pillar wasn't visible, covered by bracken and brambles. Though only 5m from the security fence dense tall brambles prevented direct access and I took a 30m circular route trampling 3ft high brambles and the bracken to access the mound and the pillar. Pillar examined and logged.

Walked up from nearby crossroads, then followed the vehicle path up through a farmers field to the transmitters. Couldn't see the trig anywhere until my sister said "is that concrete thing it?" There is was just peering above the dense bracken. Fab views over Torbay and the surrounding countryside from here though. Can't access due to the high fence and barbed wire.

I think I saw the top of this pillar through the high security fence, just about buried in brambles and bracken. But I could not be sure, and as it was raining and I was dressed for a nice warm summers motning I did not feel like hanging around to see if there was a way in.
