An easy find thanks to a comprehensive clearance by CJO 10 days prior to my visit. Did some light pruning as bracken closing in fast to reclaim the pillar again. Original top cap has been lost, no plug; rear sight hole open, L & R closed, front not determined. No views.

Cap missing. Located 2m east of telegraph pole, field side. Another pillar in East Anglia in deep bracken, brambles and nettles. Took ages to find and then we had to heavily garden it to get to it. Visit soon if you haven't done this one - approach from field side.

Went for the Beacon Hill geocache (GC1MDXH) today and noticed that there was a trig point right next to it, so we rushed to have a look. Very easy to find it. Noticed that the "ordnance survey" disc that fits in the top center of the pillar is now missing.

Good views South across Maldon and the Blackwater estuary. The O/S website shows the computing year as 1947 and the height as 83.13 metres (272.74 feet).
