A short distance N of lost pillar. Didn't spot the rivet/stud discovered by Jonglew. Dug for an hour but no signs. Still a substantial area of west side of bunker roof covered so still possible to find something. Total self isolation, not a soul in sight throughout visit. A later visit revealed Jonglews rivet/stud very close the edge of concrete slab. More digging revealed 2 metal stumps (ferrous) set in a patch of cement in a more central position on the concrete slab of the pill box. (significant?) Still a significant area of slab remains buried. A further visit cleared to west edge of concrete slab and revealed a second rivet/stud close to edge. Clearing to north edge revealed a third rivet/stud, again, close to edge and this one set in some sort of cement like the cement holding the metal stumps. A final visit clearing the east edge revealed a fourth rivet/stud, again close to edge. With the slab now fully cleared I can say with confidence, that the only foreign objects away from the boundaries of the slab are the aforementioned metal stumps.

Managed to find this just in the dunes just above the beach, 100 yards west of the wreck on the beach. Buried with only the roof visible after big storms

jonglew's object at S edge most likely a witness mark as wouldn't be possible to set up an instrument over it.

Spent 2 hours removing accumulated sand, soil and vegetation from the roof of this pillbox. The task is not complete, I estimate a further hour+ to complete the job. However, after a very short space of time a rivet was located 6cm in from the S egde of the roof (2.1m from E edge), this is likely a witness rivet, not the bolt. Continued to dig until I wore down the patience of Mrs G and nephew Andrew! I throw down the challenge for the next visitor to complete the task to find the bolt. ***3 Sep 2022 update. Magnificent effort by gowerlad to clear the roof over several visits. I can now add the OS Sketch, which shows where the Bolt should be. Remains is the best we can get from this.

Pillbox buried in the dunes. Part of roof clear of sand and vegetation. Therefore I think the Bolt will be in condition. Hope to return and clear the roof area and confirm.
