Quick-ish there and back from the CP to the W, final rise to the top surprisingly steep. Was tempted to award 9 / 10 for the display of aerial combat being performed for us by not 2 but 4 Red Kites. Our first ever Trig Point bag in West Sussex - that's now 53 counties bagged in for me and 48 for the dog.

Pillar in good condition. Great all round views. Parked to the north by Telegraph Lane and walked up to the pillar on the footpath. Path very steep in places.

Access from north side of Downs at Elsted. Track and paths were muddy and flowing with water in places and the climb is steep particularly the last half kilometre on reaching the South Downs Way and turning right to reach the view point and pillar. Well worth it. Great views all round. Sunny December day.

Abandoned car at S Harting and started cycle up the B2146. I hope that not all the trigs i do today are at the top of such a hill! Then picked up the South Downs Way and followed it to trig. There was a point where I was pushing the bike up a 1 in 2 slope. Views from the trig made it worth while.

Circular walk from South Harting CP via here and Hooksway. Fierce westerlies courtesy of the last vestiges of Storm Gertrude, but clear blue sky and great all round views from the trig. Centre and N s/hole open, small memorial plaque added since our last visit, otherwise vgc.

Early fog cleared to give fabulous morning so parked at NT car park above West Harting and walked out to this one on the spur of the moment. Fantastic views all round and musical accompaniment from a wedding being held at a barn in East Harting!

Lovely day to visit this trig but very cold and windy. Walked up from Harting Hill car park. The fairly steep hills and icy/muddy conditions made the going a little slow. Fabulous view from here. Activated the trig on WAB net (amateur radio). Had a few ramblers pass by whilst doing so, so explained what we were doing with our mast and radio equipment. Long trudge back as the sun was setting.

On a vaguely circular walk heading for high ground from South Harting taking in a couple of trigpoints along the way, (my car struggled through the floods at Bramdean.) Wonderfully bracing breezes up here on the South Downs with fine views back towards the unique green-coppered broach-spire of St Mary & St Gabriel's church.

I parked to the north-west and used Telegraph Lane and paths to reach the pillar. Seemed to be in good condition although the plug is missing and the top is open to the elements. The pillar has also acquired a Memorial Plaque. It was a glorious Good Friday and the place was heaving with people enjoying the walking and the views that these Downs allow. On the way back down Telegraph Lane I bought some of Henry's eggs and they were absolutely delicious.

Parked at national trust car park and walked just over the mile to the trig. Steep hill to the top but with nice view once you get there. Just goes to show how small the world can be though. Once we got to the top there was a couple who we had met the week before in our village who were just out for a walk. Tig in good condition.

I can see why the official route of the SDW skirts round the bottom of this hill - quite a hike up it and very windy on top, but what views! Good circular walk through the Hartings and Treyford before returning along the Downs. Trig in good condition.

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! My map notes indicate the mountain bike route taken which started at the car park to the West, takes in Linchball, and finishes at The Red Lion in Chalton.
