Walked to this trig after finding the nearby Church Micro geocache. It was quite an unusual woodland to walk through. Definitely an unusual place for a trig point. It can even be seen from Google Street View! Some slight damage to the north face of the trig.

Following a couple of fruitless attempts to find this trigpoint, I had a closer look at a large scale map. This showed that I had been looking about 50 ft too far to the north. This margin is critical when you are searching in a heavily wooded area. On this visit I found it in no time at all, albeit in thick woodland. One can only wonder how much the surroundings have changed since the original survey work was carried out.

Somehow, though I am sure that it is still there somewhere. If only because there is no apparent reason for its removal. Perhaps it will be worth another try in the winter when the ground growth has receded.
