Parked on the B3013 just down from Badger Way. Very pleasant easy walk along the shady track to the trig, lots of Rhododendrons out at this time of year. Several easily accessible pillboxes along the track for those that way inclined. Trig close to mobile phone mast, kids enjoyed following the 'telecom' signs to the mast, then trig a short way beyond. Pushchair friendly, if a bit bumpy. Had to ignore a well-meaning old lady who said that the trig point was "the other way" - either she'd never found this one or didn't know what a trig point is! No sign of @21qazxsw's 2p coin annoyingly.

Parked by the side of Beacon Hill Rd B3013 to the SSW of the trig (51°14'25.5"N 0°49'32.4"W), then walked to the trig along the tracks. No need to cross over / under / through any barbed wire fences this way. Trig in good condition, centre tube filled with concrete / asphalt, left sighthole open, all other sightholes closed. I left a 2p coin in the left sighthole for the next visitor to find.

Lockdown has succeeded where nothing else has in over 35 years (including F&M), in cancelling our annual walking weekend in Swanage. So no visit to Coringdon, just a short walk to this one instead. At least it’s upright, but the ambience of the army ranges and the nearby view out over Farnborough is nothing on that of Nine Barrow Downs and Poole Harbour! At least it’s another lovely sunny day.

Another lovely walk on a sunny, quiet, locked down Easter Sunday morning earned it an extra mark. Given this is one of our nearest extant trigs, slightly surprised I haven’t been here since 2011, but found it still in very good condition - SE s/hole open and asphalt cap but otherwise absolutely fine, if rather surrounded by trees ... intriguing observation by Widget in 1994 that you could see Farnborough. Not a hope now, even this early in the year.

This trig marked the second time I've strayed onto millitary land for bagging purposes. A few ramblers and dogs were about, but lots of cars parked at the access point (and also every other explosively signposted entrance gate I drove past en route) made me wonder whether something was going on. Steep hill offers fabulous view for enthusiasts of trees.

Clearly the training area for the Coldstream guards. Minor chipping from 1 top corner; cap missing, asphalt plug; 1 sight hole open. Trig in predominantly conifer woodland - no views.
