A small circular of 4 intersection stations from Newcastle train station. Perhaps the seahorses around the edge are the most distinct and noticeable thing about this "object". The 4 stations are for the HWP. The most interesting/not to be missed section is Banks (W) to Chollerford (E).

A Grade II* listed building, Original construction completed 1958, additional floors added 1960-3. The device at the GR is not a weather vane but looks to be original from old photographes seen, so presumably just the OS playing fast and loose with their description.

I liked this modern building, and who wouldn't appreciate the fabulous seahorses? Built in 1967, and opened the following year.

Saw it across the road while visiting Newcastle. Had forgotten it's a TP, so didn't pay particular attention or take a photo. Apparently the tower houses a carillon of 25 bells, so must go back for a proper look.
