Without doubt this pillar must be given to World Athletics for seeing some sense in this "schewiff" world. At last and long overdue.

The forecasted miserable weather didn't materialise, thankfully, so an enjoyable one to bag with good views at the location. Pillar history: Built on the 30th of April 1949, at a cost of £11 4s 6d. A pleasant walk through flowering Heather and Grouse and an interesting summit. My first thought was 'What's the point?' (thinking the trig point was there before the cairn); my next thought, having read the plaque was 'What's the point?' - surely the cairn would have prevented taking measurements for 120 degrees or more. Extra point given for the history.
