The 14th century, Grade I listed Church of St Peter is sited in the old centre of the stone built village of Evercreech to the south of Shepton Mallet. The flagstaff could still be seen on top of the building. The church yard was accessed directly from Oxford Street. There is a cut bench mark near the northwest angle of the tower. The tower and the interior roof were particularly impressive.
