Parked on Glenbrittle road at the first entrance to forestry. Went up access track through forestry before working through various rides to find the hillside. Terrible choice of ascent. Stunning from the summit looking to Cuillin and down the glen. Descent was straight down the south facing slope and through a short bit of forestry back to fairy pools carpark. Strange look from dog walker as I came crashing out the trees onto the forestry track at the end

HISTORY: Pillar completed 12th June 1958 costing £22.3s.11d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NG24/T51 in 1959. Levelled for height also in 1959. Last maintained by the OS in June 1978. SITE VISIT: Mapped good free car park just off the C1237 at NG423528, but very busy during peak season, early start advised. Up from southwest via An Cruarchan and Beinn Staic to the true summit of Beinn a' Bhràghad, trig is a further 250m to the northeast. Vanessa in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces northeast ~48°. Vented through SW sight hole, SE breaking open. Full 360° panoramic view includes: Roineval, Storr, Beinne Brice, Glamaig, Bruach Na Frithe with much of the Cuillin Ridge, Dunan Thalasgair (Eigg), An Sgurr (Eigg), Askival, Orval (Rhum), An Cruachan, Skridan and Healaval Beg. Decended northeastern slope to radial forest track and returned via mapped route to car park.
