On an ACW round of the Beinn Alligin tops. This the last before dropping down to the car park. A fine ruggedly built stone pillar. Centre cap missing, no plug; LH and RHS sight holes appear open (from my photos), other 2 sealed. Grand views.

A great day on the hills in sublime weather. I parked to the south by the waterfall, climbed up Tom na Gruagaich, followed the ridge round to Sgur Mor, crossed the three horns and scrambled down to the long winding path back to the car.

Visited this trig point on a very windy day when traversing across Beinn Alligan. Almost missed the horns due to wind but met a group coming off them who advised that the wind had not been a problem and we completed them as well. Can't remember the condition of the pillar . First ever summer hill in the Highlands, trig is not on the summit, but the rather substantial top Tom na Grugaich. On the usual route, so still visited by most parties and is currently considered a separate hill so attracting the munrobaggers. Very frightening visit as I was caught in a violent thunderstorm, still the worst I have seen in the Highlands, only one I have been in since was on Triglav (si) At least there are no wires on here. Pillar is stone built, but I did not linger. Still standing in March 2005. Photos seen from a fellow EUMC party on the hill that day - I was on Baosbheinn - No trig.
