Interesting site with the motte and bailey castle right next to it. Had a great day trigging. Got the blisters to prove it!

Bagged en-route home to Wilts after a weekend's hill, trig & benchmark hunt in Herefordshire. Didn't expect to locate the bolt whose location I didn't know, possibly on the tower? St Peter's Church was worth a visit anyway; probably dating from 13th Century, largely re-built in 1853/4 by those busy Victorian church re-modellers. Besides the square tower there's a quaint hexagonal tower reaching higher than the square one, but with much smaller footprint. Something for everyone here - the mound that was once a Norman motte stands next to the church and an unusually large cut benchmark is located on a buttress on NE face.
