Solo. Achlean to Tom Dubh, Monadh Mor and Beinn Bhrotain. Heavy rain forecast in the morning but light showers in the afternoon. Summit intermittently clear on Tom Dubh but cloud down on the two munros. Strong winds dropping towards the end. Views much on the way out and back.

Wouldn't recommend climb up to col between the two Munros (spot height 975) - very steep but might be possible up as grass

Feet very tired at end especially along stony track. Good weather all day.

My Munro #205 Set off from a wild camp at the White Bridge, so cold overnight my boot laces were frozen solid! Followed the Geldie Burn W then headed N up the Allt Dhaidh Mor and up through thick fresh wet snow to the summit - hard going. Absolutely beautiful day...except at the actual summit, where the clag refused to shift. Then on to Monadh Mor, and an exhilarating descent down the snow covered slopes into Glen Geusachan and a return to the tent down Glen Dee. Tremendous stuff!

Followed the estate track to just beyond White Bridge, then took the footpath up west side of Glen Dee. Up over Carn Cloich-mhuillin and continued to Beinn Bhrotain. The Vanessa is in very good condition. The spider centre is open. The flush bracket faces west, compass measurement 274°. The back sighting hole is plugged, the other three are open. Views lost to cloud down on day of visit.

Cycled from Linn of Dee to NN998898, left bikes and walked up track to and then along Glen Geusachan. Decided to go straight up to Monadh Mor; I just ran out completely of energy. Contoured South as best I could to the col and up Bheinn Bhrotain so still have Monadh Mor to do.

first day and group hire bikes from Braemar, cycle from Linn of Dee 6 miles to White bridge and north to slopes under Beinn Bhrotain. Bumpy bike ride and haven't put on thermals and get pretty cold legs. Unexcercised lack of fitness in my muscles means they are spasming into cramp within 15 minutes of starting walking up the hill. Mega frustration. Have to let the others go on without me and slowly with many stops to furiously massage my aching muscles I eventually get to the summit of Beinn Bhrotain for a second time since a much fitter nearly 21 year old did it in 1973.
