Unexpected bonus of bagging this trig whilst geocaching on the hill. Pillar is missing it's cap but in good condition otherwise. The surface of the pillar was well worn by the high winds it must receive.

Good walk up the track which in places was choked with snow. Absolutely stunning views from the trig. Morven in the north right round to Slioch and Knoydart in the west. The view to the Cairngorms is now interupted by the wind turbines at Moy.

Log #77. Parked at 7705 4395, then followed the estate track to the top. Last few hundred metres or so were quite slow going: a snow drift had blown across the track and required walking over 2-3ft of hard-packed snow. There is a cairn near the summit, which marks a smaller path directly to the trig. Very snowy weather on the way up, driving sleet on the way down. Due to the weather, not so much in the way of views. [ExP-72/MiP-0/BM-5]

21/5/2013 - Log from geocaching.com Finally at the top 1.5 hours later, lovely 360 degree view, been a while since Mrs TJR has been up a hill and she misses it, it never seems worth it on the way up but when you get there and you see the view it is always worth it.... And this summit has a trig point with a boost bar on it! Really enjoyed this walk - fulfilled the streak and exercise requirements for the day and proved Mrs TJR needs to get out more and seek high terrain caches.. Best was the view on the way down lovely view of the firth, Inverness, the Black Isle and the viaduct - she imagined a map like in films where arrows appear showing all the caches! http://coord.info/GC1ZY17

One of my first trigs since moving to the highlands. Amazing panaoramic views after following a good track all the way to the top.

Long/easy walk up gradual climb. Came from the North and was simple case of following the path and had GPS anyway. Ok views from the top although nothing amazing. On the way down passed 10 or so joggers. Didnt seem like the weather for it but nevermind.

The Trig in good condition

Built 5th July 1953. Secondary station in Block NJ06, Nairn. Pillar VGC. Spider centre plug absent - open. Fb faces Inverness, WNW. Only front sighting hole open. Approach via mapped track from the north, not from the SE as I did via the continuous 7Ft peat troughs I had to jump into and climb out of averaging ~1mph for some time. Had to run back to Balloch to make lost time up. Big views all round, but not to nearest two trigs; Carn nan Tri-tighearnan or Carn an Uillt Bhric. Cairngorms snow clad in May! Photographed 10/05/2005, GRP.
