A rather boring meeting on the top floor of an adjacent building in Victoria St much enlivened by the sudden realisation that I had a grandstand view of this trig, complete with flag flying for 150 years of LUL. When completed in 1929 was the tallest office block in the city; shortly to be converted to flats but is Grade 1 listed so I suspect the IS is secure.

TQ47 T022 FLAGSTAFF and BOLT. Top of London Passenger Transport Board (now London Underground) building, with flag on flagstaff celebrating 150 years of the London Underground. The ground floor of the building is the Broadway shopping arcade and St James' Park underground station, and new Scotland Yard is just across the road. The foundation stone was laid in 1928 by a long-serving worker of the LPTB. Access to bolt not sought.

London Underground HQ with large flagpole and 150 yrs of underground flag flying
and round the back is St James' tube station and the back of New Scotland Yard
