Odd place for a pillbox: there's a large mound blocking its view to the west... unless that hill is an even larger pillbox.

Bolt sits on a large octagonal concrete slab on a low ridge in an arable field. Parked on grass verge due S, hopped stock fencing and across a barren field. Suspect this may be the roof of a buried pill box as no evidence of it being a base for anyhing.

NY45 T097 BOLT. 1.5 inch bolt on concrete slab at end of slight ridge line. Surrounding area planted with Maize. The slab looks more likely to have been for air defences than the remains of a pill box, unless the rest of the pill box is very well buried. Longtown munitions camp nearby - so more than likely defensive than anything else.
