Stone-built pillar sits within an encircling shelter cairn. There is some minor damage to the top screed but otherwise all vgc. Top cap missing, as is the replacement asphalt plug of which only a residue remains around the periphery of the tube; front sight hole open. Extensive and superb panorama, as expected from the highest point in the Uists/Benbecula archipelago.

Definitely one of my favourite trigs, although it's hard to choose on these Outer Hebrides ones, especially on a day like today when it was so still and hot walking up that the midges were a problem. Golden Plover, Long-leaved and Round-leaved Sundew, Butterwort. No eagles, sadly. Wondered if we'd make it when we saw narrow ridge, but the path follows the southern, more gentle slopes, not the precipitous ridge.

A superb walk taking in Beinn Mhor, Beinn Choradail and Hecla. Not too much cloud about, but very windy. Although as so often seems to happen, the top of Beinn Mhor was almost still. As opposed to the top of Hecla where we could hardly stand up!

Island summit and 2000' drop hill, almost in the century club now. Pillar is stone built and given the number possibly older than all the usual neat Uist trigs. Concrete plug replacement damaged. Orienteering punch in situ(Western Isles Challenge) Fine hill with a cracking narrow ridge (easy though) Dry bogs help, but Beinn Mhor is reknowned for being an easy ascent. Feels alot higher than 620m though.
