Fairy Pools CP (to SW) NG424258 is £8 and pandemonium gridlock. Luckily I arrived well before the mayhem but had to leave in it. Also very difficult driving back up Glen Brittal road - too many cars for passing places.

From the Glenbrittle road just before it enters forestry. Ground across moor better than looked. Cross River and follow to summit. Views to Cuillin and into Fionn Choire excellent from here

HISTORY: Pillar completed 30th April 1958 costing £67.14s.4d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NG24/T55 in 1959. Levelled for height also in 1959. Last maintained by the OS in April 1978. SITE VISIT: Mapped good free car park just off the C1237 at NG423528, but very busy during peak season, early start advised. Good footpath to ENE leads to pathside cairn on Bealach a' Mhàim. Turning left, a lightly pathed route northwards leads over east side of Am Mam to Bealach na Beinne Brice. Turning WSW, a pathless route over some peat troughs leads to the trigged summit which is named Beinn Bhreac. Open grazing top. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces northwest ~303°. Vented through NE and SW sight holes. Full 360° panoramic view includes: Beinn Na Greine, Storr, Chumhaing, Ben Tianavaig, Glamaig, Blaven, Bruach Na Frithe, Orval (Rhum), Beinn A Bhraghad, Skridan, Healaval Beg, Roineval.

vgc, metal cap, deep letters. Dullish grassy summit, misty ascent - pity, as it must have a great view of N Cuillin, but at least the afternoon rain has stopped. From WSW, follow edge of forest, cross burn just upstream of little gorge, fairly boggy ascent. Last of the day - back to Broadford to join the others for a meal (Dunollie - adequate but not the best).

Easy access from the Bealach a' Mhaim path via Am Mam. Excellent views of central Skye and the Cuillin ridge.
