Parked in the lay by and then through the gate. Kept close to the wall on the way up the hill where it has collapsed in places. Skirted the outside of the field to the trig before the cows took an interest. Returned via a path in the wood situated to the north of the trig roughly following the field boundary back to the car. Path in the woods turns into a deer track when you turn NE at the corner of the field.

Same route as previous report however the livestock were not in the field today. The field was however something of a quagmire - very wet going. The pillboxes also had about an inch deep of water inside them. Lovely view over Holy Island.

Layby on minor road to NNE, over a field gate and up across a rough cattle pasture. Large herd in residence - bulls, cows, calves, made for an interesting walk! Pillar retains original cap, lightly indented lettering; FB is of the 'BSM' style; RHD side sight hole open. Couple of large WWII pill-boxes close by, both accessible and reasonably clean inside.

Today is a soggy tale so sorry to all trigs scored today, but Northumberland is not suffering from a drought and it surely showed it today! Set off to this one via Sykes family route, but pasture had a lot of very frisky cows with calfs so jumped (scrabbled) over the wall and went up via the wood then reclimbed back into pasture out of sight of still frisky cows. Interesting trig with accompanying WWII relic near-by.
