Pillar lies at the edge of an arable field, at the E corner of the Day Nursery. Parked in their car park to bag it. The metalwork is extant, and the FB can be seen, although it could do with a little spadework to fully reveal the number. Would be interesting to know if the lower bolt is still in the ground at its original location.

Lovely cycle along Monarch's Way to get to this trig. It was easy to spot from Offoxey Rd just at edge of houses garden. Not far form its original place. Pity it has been toppled. Rather a lot of toys dumped in the field from the Preschool. Rather a sad trig, considering its name.

I drove past the end of the drive to the nursery and pulled into the next pull-in near the double field gate. I had no idea the pillar was not in its original position. I got my bino's out and spotted it, laid down, resting in the corner beneath a large conifer. What a dad sight. Being a weekend, the nursery was closed so no fear of being worried about stalking around. I skirted the field edge and along the fence boundary, took my photos and skidaddled. Nice to see the other photos which have logged the demise of yet another pillar. It needs rescuing!

Another sad end to the pillar but at least it appears to have been laid carefully. How much would it cost to stand it upright again and securely locate it where it is?

Parked by a gate on the road to east of the nursery and walked up the drive. The owner was sitting in his pickup and I explained what I was looking for which confused him somewhat. From previous visitors' photos, I found the pillar by the edge of the adjacent crop-filled field. It is indeed a sad site lying on its side although I did manage to photograph the flush bracket. I had a long conversation with the gentleman who seemed genuinely interested in trig point and he was completely unaware of the pillar although it borders the nursry grounds. For future visitors, it might be wise to try and contact the nursery owners before going into the fields as he went inside to let them know I was close by. Although it is school holidays, the nursery is still open. He seemed quite serious about uplifting the pillar, although it is in the farmers field and will let me know its possible future. Yet another spreading of the trigpointing gospel!
